After the opponent has chosen to block during the blocking character designation step, at the same time their [When Blocking] abilities activate.

Does a character affected by "It loses all base abilities" lose abilities previously gained from abilities on itself or other cards?

・Example of an ability on itself: (CGH-1-059 Lancelot) [When Played] This character gains 1000 BP until the start of your next turn.
・Example of an ability on another card: (UE04BT/CGH-1-015 Lelouch Lamperouge) [When Played] Choose up to one character on your field. It gains "This character cannot be blocked by a character with 2000 or less BP" until the end of the turn.

No, it does not. But continually referencing base abilities on the card are lost, even if they have taken effect.
