My name is Kiyoshi Miyagawa, and I have been serving as the Development Producer for UNION ARENA since this fiscal year.
As someone who has been involved with UNION ARENA since the launch of the service, I will continue working to bring the appeal of UNION ARENA to even more players.
Thank you for your continued support.
Thanks to all of our players, UNION ARENA celebrates its 3.5th anniversary today.
We would first like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who continues to enjoy UNION ARENA and take this opportunity to share some information about what lies ahead for the game.
Regarding Card Usage Restrictions
One of the core design principles of UNION ARENA is to allow characters from a wide variety of titles to come together, while preserving the unique characteristics and play styles of each series.
With new titles joining the game almost every month, one of the appeals of UNION ARENA is that the competitive environment continues to evolve.
At the same time, the operation team continuously monitors situations in which the usage rate or win rate of certain decks becomes significantly high, as this may lead to a stagnant or overly fixed metagame.
In order to maintain an environment where all players can enjoy competing with a diverse range of decks, we are considering limiting the number of copies that may be included for certain cards, based on the results of official and sanctioned tournaments.
We are currently carefully analyzing tournament results and usage rates from April 2026 onward and are considering restrictions for the following decks.
Titles Currently Under Consideration for Restrictions
- ・THE IDOLM@STER SHINY COLORS（Purple）
- ・Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition（Red）
- ・Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation（Green）
Planned Announcement and Effective Dates
The following schedule is planned for this round of card usage restrictions:
September 25, 2026 (Fri.):
Details of the restrictions will be announced on the official website and official SNS account.
October 1, 2026 (Thu.):
The restrictions will take effect under the tournament regulations.
Further details has been posted on the “Card Usage Restrictions” page of the official website. We will also provide another announcement through the official SNS account when the page is updated.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to players who regularly use the affected decks. We hope that these adjustments will create a fresher and more exciting gameplay environment for everyone, while also encouraging players to discover new strategies and enjoy building new decks. We sincerely appreciate your understanding.
In Conclusion
UNION ARENA has grown into a title enjoyed by many people not only in Japan, but around the world.
Once again, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of our players, as well as everyone who continues to support UNION ARENA.
There are still three months remaining this year, with many exciting titles scheduled for release. Looking ahead to next year and beyond, many more exciting and surprising new titles have also been confirmed.
We will announce them gradually through upcoming events, livestreams, and the official X account, so please look forward to what is coming next.
