To Everybody That Is Enjoying UNION ARENA

I’m Yuki Kadota, the Producer of UNION ARENA. Thank you very much for your continued support and for playing UNION ARENA.

At the recent “BANDAI CARD GAMES Next Plan Presentation 2025.06”, we unveiled upcoming product plans and newly joining titles—we hope you enjoyed the announcements!
During the UNION ARENA segment, we recorded the highest number of concurrent viewers since the service launched!
This incredible response has once again reminded us of how many players are looking forward to and enjoying UNION ARENA.
On behalf of the entire development and operations team, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks.

We would also like to sincerely thank everyone who attended “UNION ARENA Festival 2025 in Tokyo” held in May and “UNION ARENA Festival 2025 in Aichi” held in June. We were truly delighted to feel the energy and excitement of the players firsthand at the venues.

Today, we would like to inform you about the Restrictions on Card Usage and Regarding Upcoming Titles.

About Restrictions on Card Usage

At UNION ARENA, our core game design concept is to allow characters from a wide variety of titles to come together and interact, while preserving the unique traits of each individual series. With new titles joining the game almost every month, one of UNION ARENA’s key appeals is its constantly improving the game environment.

At the same time, we are closely monitoring situations where certain decks show exceptionally high usage or win rates, raising concerns about a fixed or unbalanced play environment. To ensure that all players can enjoy a diverse and dynamic competitive experience, we are considering placing card usage restrictions—such as limiting the number of specific cards that can be included in a deck—based on the results of official and sanctioned tournaments. We will also continue to review and potentially lift existing restrictions on certain cards, taking into account changes in the overall metagame.

We are currently conducting a careful analysis of tournament results and deck usage trends since February 2025, and based on our findings, we are considering the following card restrictions and lifts.

Titles Under Consideration for Card Usage Restrictions

  • ・CODE GEASS Rozé of the Recapture (Blue)
  • ・Sword Art Online (Purple)

Titles Under Consideration for Card Restriction Lifts

  • ・JUJUTSU KAISEN (Blue)

Scheduled Announcement and Effective Date

The final decisions regarding the upcoming card usage restrictions are scheduled to be announced and implemented according to the timeline below.

July 15, 2025 (Tue):Details of the changes will be announced on the official website and official X.
August 1, 2025 (Fri):Restrictions will be enforced in tournament regulations.

Further details will be published on the “Card Usage Restrictions” page of the official website at a later date. An announcement will also be made on our official X (formerly Twitter) account once the update is live.

We recognize that card usage restrictions in UNION ARENA have a significant impact on players' overall gameplay experience. As such, the operations team has engaged in numerous discussions and carefully monitored tournament trends before making these decisions with the utmost care and consideration. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, including the need to reconsider or adjust your existing deck builds.
However, we hope that these adjustments will contribute to a fresher and more exciting play environment, offering new strategic opportunities and renewed enjoyment in deck building. We kindly ask for your understanding and continued support.

We would now like to once again share with you the release schedule for the titles planned for launch in Japan.
